CIVIL WEDDING CEREMONIES
The Percy Room is licensed for Civil Ceremonies, and detailed below are the legal requirements that need to be fulfilled before a reservation can be confirmed.
1. Couples who wish to be married in the Percy Room are required to give notice of Marriage to the Superintendent Registrar of the district in which they reside.
2. Civil marriages are conducted by the Registrar, and couples are responsible for organising the Registrar themselves, and the payment of their fees.
3. Marriages in the presence of the Superintendent Registrar are by law, not permitted to have any religious content (i.e. secular). Readings or music played before, during or after the ceremony will be deemed as being part of the marriage proceedings.
4. Access to the general public must be granted to any civil ceremony.
5. Food and drink are not permitted in the marriage room either during the ceremony and at least one hour prior to the commencement of the ceremony.
6. A charge of £150.00 room hire is made for a civil ceremony.
7. Civil ceremonies are not permitted on any Bank Holiday e.g. Good Friday, Christmas Day, New Years Day etc…
